Steve Yzerman announced his retirement as a hockey player today. Stevie Y has been the cornerstone of the Red Wings franchise since I've been old enough to follow sports (he was drafted in 1983). The biggest hero in Detroit sports in the last generation, we will miss him terribly as a player. Today is a very sad day.Tags:
